~ Emery
LaRue ~
This month we have a sit
down with author Emery LaRue
Emery LaRue busted on the scene last year with the first in her
series "The Portal, previously published through Silks Vault Publishing
but currently published through Forbidden Publications. She has since earned the
title author with joining in with the elite in the Spellfire Digest
Series, Midnight Showcase, and with her latest, "Tavoli's Claiming
which is book 2 of "The Portal Series. She is a very passionate yet,
you can describe her as a very strong willed woman.
With her many titles out and others still coming she made a few
transitions over this passed year. This has made her even more
determined and I believe this is a woman who will get all she
strives for and more! When you meet and speak with her, you can't
help but feel you have known her all your life. She has a wonderful
and bubbly personality and certainly one of will.
A mother of two, a boy and a girl, Emery keeps pretty busy, but
always finds time for her reading and writing and bringing us all
these hot, hot, hot fantasies!
Now I have to ask...is there a man that can tame her heart out here?
Of course there is...and he will find her and I will get all the
dish to share it with you! So Stay Tuned!

Author Interview Emery LaRue

Thank You Emery for joining us at Sensual Reads and Reviews today.
Thanks! I'm happy to be here.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Well, I'm a full time mom and when I'm not doing that I'm at this
computer hoping to create the next fantasy fiction.
Who do you think was the greatest influence in your writing growing
up?
With out a doubt, my grandfather. He was blessed with his knack for
storytelling and was damn good to. I knew the minute I could
understand him, I wanted to tell stories too.
Why was he such a great influence?
He was a special man with a gift. No matter what that day brought,
he had his own special light. he shared it with us all, in life and
in death.
You have children, have they showed interest in writing like you
have, or are they into other things?
My son is already writing his own little books. He has the best
imagination. Vampires, castles, dragons and knights all rolled into
one. He will go along way if he chooses to chase it.
That is great! As we all grow and evolve, and our life takes us on
different roads so to speak; you have recently went through a
divorce and relocated, how do you think this has effected your
writing?
I think it has made me more determined. I look at my past marriage
as a learning experience. Not all men are up to the task of a
determined woman. But I put all my love and desire into my other
passion, my writing. I am a firm believer in love and fate and soul
mates. He is out there, and I will find him. One day I will find
him, and he will be the back ground for all of my fantasy. Until
then, I live through my characters.
Where do you get your fantasy idea's?
I'm sitting in bed watching a movie, and this really hot hero comes
on the screen. He has everything, but sharp canines or glowing eyes,
or the right amount of sex appeal. Or, I'm driving through the
historic areas of my state and something starts to take flight in my
mind. So, simply pit, just about anything can get me going. Not to
mention brainstorming with friends.
we
You can write some pretty sassy sex scenes, so I have to ask...is
this from fantasy or experience?
YA know, in all honesty, I am a passion driven woman. If I can find
the man who can keep up with me, I will love him for life. I have
not had the best experience with love, but I'm still looking. When I
find him, look out. Because we will set the world on fire.
So it's from experience and fantasy?
I guess you could say I like to mix it up. LOL...However, I can't
kiss and tell to much. Need to leave a little to the imagination of
others.
Your book, "The Portal" Forbidden
Publications, is in the paranormal
erotic romance, is this your favorite genre? Or is this just one of
your many talents?
it is without a doubt my favorite. I love the thought of a dark and
dangerous man. Someone who will bring out the wild side in us all.
Can you tell us here at Sensual Reads how did you come up with the
idea's for your characters in "The Portal?
I love art. The works of Valejio and Bell, as well as Royo, made me
see the beauty of the strong woman. Combine that with a little
Clapton in the background for music, and you get a woman who can
kick ass and ask questions later.
Are you this type of woman?
Well, I would say yes, and no. I do love the Art with a passion. The
background music is a must but a mixture. As for the tuff stuff, LOL
nah. I leave that to my heroines. But if needed I can get serious
...LOL
I bet you could! LOL LOL A wonderful read in itself, you prolonged
it by bringing us the luscious, "Tavoli's Claiming" which is book
two of the Portal Series. And you put a spin on it, by bringing out
the bad guy and making us not only cheer for him...but made us pant
for him too. What gave you the idea for this?
Well, hell, who don't want a bad boy to love? Tavoli is by far my
favorite. He is wicked and hard, yet loving and caring. I wanted my
friends and readers to see a side that is not always there. Tavoli
found his woman, and was willing to face death itself to get her. I
know I would want that.
I think we all would!
I'm still waiting for my Tavoli!
Will there be a book 3?
You bet. In book two your kind of left wondering, but you may be
surprised at the newest in, The Portal series.
Can you tell us a bit about it? You know...just enough to wet our
appetites.
Well, in book 3 I am introducing a surprise character. Someone you
will not be expecting. Someone not even my characters are aware of.
I'm having a blast with this one.
Yep that wet our appetites...bring out the bibs! lol You have been
invited to join the spellfire digests, Midnight Showcase what has
been your experience, in writing in a digest, with so many other
authors?
I LOVE IT! Spellfire is amazing. I wish there was a town like it in
life. And with each story it grows. Spellfire will be around for
awhile with many twists and turns.
What have you learned from the experience?
That I can expand what I think is the usual because in Spellfire,
nothing is usual.
We look forward to the many issues of Spellfire, that is for sure!
You have just turned in the transcript for your newest book,
Relative Dreams. Can you tell us about this book?
Well, Elizabeth Bathory was a real woman in the 17th century. She
bathed in the blood of young girls, to keep her beauty. Before it
was over, more than 600 girls died. I wanted to take this lady of
history and make use her into a romance novel. After all, she
inspired Dracula, and I wanted to give it a twist. I have always
loved Dracula, and was inspired when I read her story.
What do you think it is about Dracula and Vampires, that have
fascinated us for so long?
The dark and mysterious, the untouchable. The unknown. I have always
loved the myth and folklore. The idea that something like that could
come alive between the pages is thrilling. Hey, if I could meet just
one that I have read about, I would willingly say, "Bite me and mean
it."
LOL LOL That is too funny! What gave you the idea for it?
Just wanted something kind of new and not full of fiction :) But hot
and romantic as well.
So you wanted to mix fiction with non fiction?
Yes, and I have never read a romance with the countess in it. I just
wanted to mix things up a bit.
Other then the digests and the portal series, what is your next
project?
I have the plans started for an elements series. 5 books based
around witches and the cops who fall in love with them. They are in
the line of erotic suspense. Earth, wind, fire, air and spirits. I
have great plans for these.
Sounds enticing! How does it differ from the books you write now?
This is my first shot at a novel series. I also have much research
to do. Though its fiction, I want to get all the details right in
the area of spells and such. But I'm enjoying it.
I think I can speak for most of us, when I say, "We can't wait!"
Where do you want to go from here?
As far as I can and beyond. I hope to be telling tales when I'm to
old to drive. I love doing this. Its my biggest dream. I don't think
I could be happy doing anything else. Other than my kids, my writing
is my love. Even my house suffers. LOL
As we close can you tell us what is your favorite quote?
"Don't sweat the petty stuff, just pet the sweaty stuff" Meaning,
life's going happen, you may as well roll with it and land on your
feet.
