~ Amy Ruttan ~

Amy Ruttan is an erotic romance and historical romance author whose first book released from Ellora’s Cave in September 2007.

She writes sensuous passionate romance whether it’s a little bit on the steamy side or a little bit spicier; her romances are always timeless and full of passion.

What Amy loves most about writing, especially in the historical genre, is the research that goes into her fiction. She loves to learn about new places and new things. She travels the world in her living room through her characters.

Masque of Desire - Tricks and Treats

Miranda Carter is a very successful attorney, trick or treating is for kids; but when a very influential client she has never met invites her to an authentic 18th Century masquerade she quickly suits up to attend his masked ball at the haunted plantation Violet Hall.

Violet Hall is the home to a mysterious

ghost of the former owner, Aleksandr Valquet, that has haunted the grounds for two hundred and fifty years, waiting for his true love to return and break the curse of his immortality; and the so called ghost has set his eyes on Miranda.

Miranda succumbs to the masked stranger’s advance and spends an evening of pleasure in the arms of a masked stranger, a stranger that seems awfully familiar as her past life unfolds.

Favorite Q and A's

What is your favorite color?

After much retrospection I freely admit that pink is my favorite color. I know it's girly, but I just love it. I love every shade of it and I even love it in Neon.

What is your favorite pastime?

I love car trips, reading, scrap booking any kind of craft. When I have time that is, LOL. I love all kinds of crafts and I love to travel.

What music do you listen to?

I have a very eclectic taste. My favorites though are Gwen Stefani, Prince, Aerosmith, Eminem, Lorenna McKennit and Johnny Cash. I also adore 80's music. Love it. I will listen to anything though.

What is your favorite kind of movies?

Comedies, especially the British Comedies. I am a huge fan of Carry On movies. I also love the movie version of the Phantom of the Opera, I love the Harry Potter's the Lord of the Rings. Actually my movie tastes are board, everything except horror.

What books do you like to read?

Again anything. I will read anything. Most of my books happen to be romance, but I will read anything that appeals to me ... and much to my hubby's chagrin there is a lot in the book store and on the web that appeals to me. My bookshelves are overflowing.

What are your favorite scenes to write?

The scenes with the sexual tension, especially the scene where the Hero and Heroine first meet. I love that push pull interaction of two strong characters.

Who are your favorite authors?

Connie Mason, Katie MacAlister, Johanna Lindsay, JR Ward, EB White, Laura Ingalls Wilder, LM Montgomery, Roald Dahl, JK Rowling, Tolkien to name a few.

What is your favorite genre to write?

Historical Romance. I love history, I love learning about different time periods. Half the fun of writing historicals and being swept away in a different time period is the research. I love to research.

What are your favorite books on writing?

Alison Kent's Erotic Romance for Dummies was a great book, it helped me a lot with writing the "big" scene. That was a plethora of information. I also loved Story by Robert McKee and On Writing by Stephen King.
